Saintlondon XVI collab

It’s really hard moving to a new country but it has been my motivation. I might not have friends yet but I’m in contact with a lot of people from different countries through internet. That’s the power of the internet it’s like having imaginary friends when you were young, only you could see them and interact with them. Don’t know if that happens in real life maybe I watch too many movies.

So I started blogging and it has been a challenge but most of all a learning curve. I’m learning about myself, business, socializing etc all at the same time. I was confused in the beginning which niche to follow but I followed my heart which led me to fashion, beauty and lifestyle. The reason I ended up with these three niches is my love for fashion and individualism within. There are thousands and thousands of fashion bloggers but I believe if I get inspired without copying I should be able to stand out or more like having a little bit of faith while doing my best.

I found a theme and followed it with each post and eventually there was a DM from Saintlondonxvi which said they liked my feed and they are interested in collaborating. Immediately I went on the internet and started researching on collaborations. Then I replied with a big Yes. An amazing Fitzrovia rose gold, a timeless and sophisticated timepiece for every occasion. Giving class and sophistication in the most subtle but brilliant manner arrived. Codes were sent and I had to take pictures and post together with my code. So exciting I thought as it inspired me to be creative about colors and textures. It was pretty straightforward to be honest no hassles. I’ll leave it at that and if you are interested in these gorgeous timepieces which I think are absolutely amazing head over to their website or follow this link https://www.saintlondonxvi.com/discount/VERONZEE which will lead you to a 20% off when checking out by using the discount code VERONZEE. You will find the piece that speaks to you the most. You can thank me later:)

I have been receiving a lot of emails and DM s but I’ve decided to stick more on the side of I’m not buying to advertise for a brand unless it’s one of my favorites, there has to be another way, I get the 50,20, 10 percent off but is it really worth it if the work is mostly for the brands than yourself. When do brands contact you to give you stuff for free to spread the word or pay you? How long does that take because I’m impatient to wait two years or however long. So I’ll just keep the faith and keep checking my inbox for that big offer that will bring more opportunities that are worth it for me.

P.S How amazing that Octoly decided to lower their requirements to 5k on Instagram, i thought that was fate because i had just heard about them and went online and it was 10 k next morning 5k.

Have you guys done any collaborations and what are your thoughts?

All the luck to me xx

Blazer Love

Don’t you just love blazers, there’s something chic about a woman in a blazer. Honestly I never really liked my blazer at school, my long arms were the reason because it could never reach my wrists. Such a petty reason to dislike something right? At this time I was plagued with insecurities. I remember a time I would slouch because I felt too tall or only wear sports bras because my boobs were too big. There’s just so many negative reasons we feel our heads with when growing up. Sometimes they are stuck with us for the rest of our lives, sometimes we embrace them and find beauty in our flaws.

I love blazers now that I’ve done a bit of growing up. My favorites are the checked blazers. They are so unique, they give a very classy and timeless appearance. I sometimes hear ladies thinking that certain items are not suited for them. I can assure you blazers are suited for every body and they are very versatile. They come in different styles, shapes and sizes. Small framed women can get away with any style, the same with medium framed women while large framed women look best when the blazer has no back slit as they tend to lift I find. So no excuses ladies, if you always wanted a blazer but felt insecure about wearing it, please toss those insecurities and embrace those flaws and get yourselves a blazer.

You can wear it going to the office, running errands, drinks with friends you name it. Whatever the occasion a blazer will accommodate it.

Here are a few blazer inspirations from Pinterest to further convince you to buy a blazer. You can also click on my Instagram shop in the menu button to shop or see whether you can find some good blazers that won’t kill or kill your budget. Happy shopping.

A home away

Today I thought I would write a bit about my move to France and how things have been so far.We arrived on the 1st of July my husband 4 kids and 2 dogs. Saying it has been a roller coaster is an understatement . It’s only now I’ve recently seen the light at the end of the tunnel. It started as an idea that became an action which made me believe how powerful our minds can be and how often the steps we take lead us to our reality. A move falls under the three most stressful events in people’s lives next to a loss of a loved one and changing jobs. Leaving your comfort zone, a place you’ve known all your life. With everything you know and love and moving to a new place in the middle of nowhere let alone the language barrier, luckily I had done a french course at Alliance française in Cape Town so i am not completely lost in translation.

Prior to the move while dealing with movers etc I was expecting twins honestly i feel like I’m entitled to call myself a superwoman. I would like to meet anyone who has done a move to a new country and gave birth to twins all in one year. All that stress I found myself in labour a bit early which is expected being high risk and the added stress. Luckily all went well with the twins, never mind my near death trauma (hemorrhage it’s called that’s a whole new book on its own, I thought I would mention it so I don’t seem like I’m exaggerating when I say I’ve been through turmoil.

Eventually we made it through and now I’m sitting in my veranda reflecting. Despite all that has happened everything seems to be falling into place and I have this feeling that it was the best decision. I feel at peace and my mind seems quite clear and focused something I’ve struggled with. I guess when you take away all the distractions and disturbances your mind unlocks as this is how I feel. We live in a longere as the french call it in the middle of nowhere surrounded by forest. My neighbors are meters away, from city to country what a transition!

I’m falling in love with this place everyday. The organisation, the french public service is so organized there is paperwork for everything but it’s the execution that catches my attention. Coming from South Africa where everything is a drag, I love my country but on this front we need some serious schooling. Just to get a birth certificate I had to wait six months going to home affairs almost everyday, at some point I felt like I should bring a blanket and a snack box and camp there then maybe someone will finally give me answers. So that’s why when we’ve been busy with all the french administration process I was amazed by the work ethic and organizational skills they possess. The stuff at supermarkets are so professional that’s the other thing that grabbed my attention. I remember going to a supermarket in my country and one lady didn’t even look at me she just rang my products and that was that no smile no hello nothing. I felt so hurt I wanted to ask her if I offended her somehow but that was one of many encounters so it was normal. We have our own things that we excel in and one thing i can think of is Ubuntu (Zulu pronunciation: [ùɓúntʼù])is a NguniBantu term meaning “humanity”. It is often also translated as “humanity towards others”, but is often used in a more philosophical sense to mean “the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity”.

All I have experienced so far is positive let’s give it a year shall we and see if I’ll be writing the same positive post. We live in the Bretagne region and there is so much beauty around us. A few favorites

Favorite restaurant called La Paix situated in Rennes. I love the food and the deco is captivating.

My husband loves water sports and we found this beautiful place which is in Arradon towards the golf of morbihan.

Beautiful Carnac

I love this place in Rennes situated in the old quarter close a shopping street. I think it’s an excellent idea because shopping can be tiring all that walking around sometimes you need a moment to relax after without having to sit at a restaurant even if you don’t want to order anything. You can just chill in this little square and watch the world go by.

There’s so much more I can put in this post but I’ll leave it here for now.

I’m finding my footsteps as each day passes. Hopefully I’ll make ton of friends, I’ll keep dreaming. My family and my blog are my best friends for now.

Au revoir et à bientôt. xx

The way she wears it

A classic piece that every wardrobe needs, so perfect it can be styled in so many ways. Each wearer creating their own unique style. It gives elegance and class to any outfit. Ladies get yourselves a camel coat.

Camel coats are vintage pieces and there’s something unique about a fashion piece that never goes out of style. If you don’t know what to wear, it always comes in handy especially at this time of the year. You can wear a simple pair of jeans and a t-shirt but once you put the camel coat on, it transforms the look.

A few things you have to consider when buying a camel coat are: the material, the craftsmanship how it’s made is very important as it determines the whole appearance, the seems, lining, buttons etc.The blend is it with wool, cashmere or mohair? My favorite is cashmere blend like the one I’m wearing it gives it a slick high end appearance. The cut is also important because we all have different body types which then makes the choice an individual one like choosing from double breasted or not, oversized or fitting, with a belt or without. At the moment oversized coats are trending but let that not discourage you if you love the fitting cut. It works just as beautifully depending on how you style it. Certain occasions work well with both fitting and oversized for example a work function or meeting or just going to work a fitting camel coat looks amazing. Grabbing coffee with friends or going shopping an oversized camel coat works best. So why not have them both and change them up for each occasion.

Quick tip: When shopping do you just buy because you like an item then arrive home nothing goes with your new item in your wardrobe then that item is stashed somewhere in your wardrobe neglected? Well next time you go shopping consider the following how does this item fit in my wardrobe? Do I have a few pieces that will compliment this item? With these questions you have your whole wardrobe in your head when shopping so whatever item you buy, you already put it in an outfit with what you already have.

Here are a few camel coat inspirations taken from Pinterest that will get you adding a camel coat to your wardrobe.

Lipstick is always a good idea

Today I want to share with you a bit on lipstick. We have heard the qoutes of when in doubt wear lipstick or give a woman a redlipstick and she will conquer the world. There is something truthful about that sometimes I’m so busy as a mom I hardly have time to fix my hair let alone do my make up and it’s time to go out for lunch but one thing I always remember is my nude lipstick from Mac it never leaves my handbag, it’s definitely my when in doubt.I love redlipstick and honestly i always feel like i can conquer the world with the amount of confidence it gives me.

When it comes to lipsticks you can buy from very affordable, affordable and expensive, the look you get will be very similar depending off course if you like matte or glossy. I have tested lipsticks in these categories and honestly there is not much difference so I think it’s best to go with your pocket or be an all rounder like me.

This Rouge Dior 999 matte lipstick is my most expensive I’m happy to say it’s the only one I own at the moment maybe I’ll try different colors from Chanel or Yves saint Laurent etc and keep them for special occasions or as souvenirs haha. This lipstick gives me so much, I have a problem with dry lips that escalates the minute I put on lipstick, but I find this one very moisturizing though it’s a matte. It lasts for about 16 hours even after a few glasses of wine which is a winner because touching up lipstick every hour is not my cup of tea.

As you can see here Mac is my absolute favorite. I’m growing a collection that’s how much I love their lipsticks. The nudes are my everyday wear. The only difference between their Retro matte and Dior on my sensitive lips is that Mac tends to really dry my lips even more. I also have to touch it up a few times even though it’s a long wear.

Then I have my Yves Rocher lipsticks which I also love for different reasons. They give a different feel altogether, the texture is different they have a slight scent to them. They are moisturizing and are naturally made.

There you have it but with all that lipstick the lips always need care, especially if you suffer from dry lips like me you have to go the extra mile. My lip routine starts with this Lush sugar plum exfloliater besides the fact that it’s natural and freshly handmade, I love this exfloliater it smells divine sometimes I eat it…obviously by mistake but it tastes great or you can always use the sugar in your kitchen with a bit of water or dip a towel in warm water and scrub the lips to remove all the dead skin. You will feel the difference right away. Moisturize, moisturize I can’t say that enough it should be your bedtime routine like washing your face or brushing your teeth. Remember any healing happens when we are asleep.

Rouge Dior 999 matte= €35,50.

Mac cosmetics lipsticks = €19,50

Yves Rocher = €12,90

Below are some of my favorite lipstick picks. You can shop some of them or pick your own

Don’t be afraid to fall🍂🍂

Im from South Africa for those who have not read my about page. The weather is warm and our winter is a sweater and a jacket,10 degrees being the minimum. I never really noticed Autumn months. There was really nothing to notice, advantages of living in the city though I didn’t grow up in the city I still have no recollection of autumn memories.

Now moving to France there’s two things I was looking forward to in terms of weather, the snow which I saw in the movies especially those Christmas ones with smoked chimneys and the beautiful colorful autumn trees with leaves falling making decorational colors. There’s such a strong significance here something dead yet looking so alive. It’s an understatement to say I was excited.

My love for fashion led me to these beautiful pumpkins. I love the color palettes they represent and the warmth they give,no curving here.In my opinion every girl’s autumn wardrobe should incorporate these colors. I love the soft colors for example your pastels though they are all year colors but they compliment the warm colors very well, it’s a match made in fashion heaven if such exits. Then you have the warm colors like your oranges and your browns etc which screams autumn .Then the deep colors which I find are mostly suited for winter like your pines and navies etc but if you play around with them they contrast beautifully. It’s time to forget any fashion rules you may know. When it comes to style it’s your perspective that matters.

My autumn fever began when I discovered the vintage sweaters my mother inlaw gave me as she probable anticipated they will come in handy. Can we be friends so I can come raid your Nana’s wardrobes , just a thought. I found myself obsessing as I walked into my favorite store and looked at nothing but sweaters, socks, boats and coats. The cosiness and heart warming feeling they give makes me want to cozy up all day wearing my socks and sweater by the fireplace sipping on a glass of red, would not life be perfect but my 6 months old twins would never allow such luxury.

So there you have it, the secret is out I’ve fallen What do you love most about fall? What are your favorite fall must haves?

Below are some of my favorites this fall.

Home is where your make up stash is

As a model of color its always a struggle when you arrive on set excited about the job but worried about how you will look and who your make up artist is.

Makeup artists often dont have all the shades and you are faced with looking a shade or two lighter or darker and looking ghostly at times. I always make it a point to bring my own makeup and educate myself. No one is stealing my shine with bad makeup.

Finding out about fenty beauty I understood immediately where the hype is coming from and honestly it is the best thing that has happened to people of color and with good reason. I remember seeing a clip of a three shades darker lady buying her fenty foundation and she was in tears.

So i decided to buy myself the fenty rum and truffe stix for highlighting and contouring. Im happy to say im inlove and i love the convenience. Im also a mom so my time is limited and the match stix are the future as i dont have to spend hours doing makeup.

I achieved these two looks: day and night by using the following:

Bobbi brown foundation stick @bobbibrown, fenty rum and truffe match stix @fentybeauty,eyeliner,mascara and lipstick @maccosmetics,eyeshadow @clinique

Below are a few of my favorites which you can buy.
