Im from South Africa for those who have not read my about page. The weather is warm and our winter is a sweater and a jacket,10 degrees being the minimum. I never really noticed Autumn months. There was really nothing to notice, advantages of living in the city though I didn’t grow up in the city I still have no recollection of autumn memories.
Now moving to France there’s two things I was looking forward to in terms of weather, the snow which I saw in the movies especially those Christmas ones with smoked chimneys and the beautiful colorful autumn trees with leaves falling making decorational colors. There’s such a strong significance here something dead yet looking so alive. It’s an understatement to say I was excited.
My love for fashion led me to these beautiful pumpkins. I love the color palettes they represent and the warmth they give,no curving here.In my opinion every girl’s autumn wardrobe should incorporate these colors. I love the soft colors for example your pastels though they are all year colors but they compliment the warm colors very well, it’s a match made in fashion heaven if such exits. Then you have the warm colors like your oranges and your browns etc which screams autumn .Then the deep colors which I find are mostly suited for winter like your pines and navies etc but if you play around with them they contrast beautifully. It’s time to forget any fashion rules you may know. When it comes to style it’s your perspective that matters.
My autumn fever began when I discovered the vintage sweaters my mother inlaw gave me as she probable anticipated they will come in handy. Can we be friends so I can come raid your Nana’s wardrobes , just a thought. I found myself obsessing as I walked into my favorite store and looked at nothing but sweaters, socks, boats and coats. The cosiness and heart warming feeling they give makes me want to cozy up all day wearing my socks and sweater by the fireplace sipping on a glass of red, would not life be perfect but my 6 months old twins would never allow such luxury.
Below are some of my favorites this fall.
With love xx
